IITH Summer Internship 2025

The IIT Tirupati Navavishkar I-Hub Foundation (IITTNiF) has officially launched the third edition of its highly-regarded STAR-PNT Summer Internship Program, hosted at PNT Labs in collaboration with premier spoke institutions across India. This initiative, powered by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS), is tailored to nurture technical talent in Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) technologies.

Extended Application Deadline

The last date to apply has now been extended to 31st May 2025, giving students additional time to register and participate in this prestigious internship.


Who Can Apply / Eligibility?

The program welcomes applications from students who meet the following criteria:

  • Courses Eligible: B.Tech / B.E, B.Sc, or BCA
  • Academic Requirement: Minimum 4 semesters completed (i.e., second-year students and above)

This ensures that only candidates with sufficient foundational knowledge and coursework exposure are considered.


Duration and Stipend

  • Internship Period: 2 Months (June–July 2025 expected)
  • Monthly Fellowship: ₹5000/-

The stipend is aimed at supporting interns financially while they engage in hands-on learning and innovation.


Registration Fees

  • ₹1000 per challenge for general category
  • ₹850 per challenge for students from EWS/PwD categories

Note: Participants can opt for multiple challenges, but each challenge requires separate registration and payment.


Key Technical Challenges

The selection for this internship is challenge-based, meaning students must complete and submit responses to specific technical problems:

  1. Remote Sensing Challenge
    Task: Extract alphanumeric characters from cadastral maps.
  2. Computer Vision Challenge
    Task: Detect and categorize parking spaces from given visual data.
  3. GNSS Challenge
    Task: Classify satellite signals as Line-of-Sight (LOS) or Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS).

Each challenge requires submission of:

  • Codebase (ZIP file)
  • Output files (ZIP)
  • Documentation (ZIP)
