The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has opened applications for its Paid Internship Program 2025 at the Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL), Chandigarh. The program is open to undergraduate (B.Tech) and postgraduate (M.Sc) students, and the last date to apply is November 17, 2025.
About DRDO – Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL)
The Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) is a premier DRDO lab located in Chandigarh. It focuses on the study of the effects of projectiles, explosives, and defense-related testing. Students selected for this internship will work on real-time defense projects at TBRL Range, Ramgarh (District Panchkula, Haryana) under expert scientists and researchers.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following eligibility conditions:
- Educational Qualification:
- Candidates must be pursuing B.Tech (Undergraduate) or M.Sc (Postgraduate) in relevant disciplines.
 - The internship must be an essential component of the academic curriculum.
 
 - Academic Performance:
- Students must have secured a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CGPA in all previous semesters.
 - Only students from AICTE/UGC-approved institutions are eligible.
 
 - Age Limit:
- Applicants must be below 28 years as on the application closing date.
 
 - Nationality:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen.
 
 
Selection Procedure
The selection will be based strictly on merit. The following parameters will be considered:
- Academic performance (CGPA or percentage)
 - Verification of documents
 - Telephonic or online interview (if required)
 - Recommendation letter from the Principal/HOD/TPO of the candidate’s college
 
Only shortlisted candidates will receive an email regarding the selection and joining procedure. No communication will be sent to non-selected applicants.
Internship Duration and Reporting Details
- The internship will last for 6 months, starting January 2026.
 - Selected interns will have to report to TBRL Range, Ramgarh (Panchkula, Haryana).
 - Interns are required to submit:
- A mid-term progress report after 3 months
 - A final project report upon completion
 
 - After successful completion, a Certificate of Internship will be issued by DRDO–TBRL.
 
Stipend and Payment Process
- Monthly Stipend: ₹5,000
 - The stipend is applicable only if the student is physically present at the lab for a minimum of 15 working days each month.
 - Payment will be made in two installments:
- First installment after 3 months
 - Final installment after successful completion of 6 months
 
 - The stipend will be transferred directly to the student’s bank account.
 
Documents Required at the Time of Joining
Shortlisted students must bring the following documents during joining:
- Training/Project letter from the Training and Placement Office (TPO)
 - Bonafide and Character Certificate issued by the college
 - No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the institution stating internship approval
 - Police Verification Certificate from the student’s hometown
 - Undertakings for secrecy, IT compliance, and the Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923
 - Aadhaar card (original) and college ID
 - All previous semester mark sheets (original) or a letter stating originals are held by the college
 - Three passport-size photographs
 - Bank details for stipend transfer
