    Overview of BGSRP 2025

    The program is hosted by Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus, which is a prestigious institution known for cutting-edge research and academic excellence. Selected candidates will work on specific projects, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to the latest research methodologies.

    Program Duration

    The BGSRP 2025 internship will be conducted offline from the 1st week of June 2025 to the last week of July 2025, with a maximum duration of 60 days.

    Eligibility Criteria

    To apply for BGSRP 2025, candidates must meet the following requirements:

    • Must be an Indian citizen.
    • Should be pursuing Undergraduate (UG) or Postgraduate (PG) degrees from a recognized institution in India or abroad.
    • Recent graduates (within six months of obtaining their degree) seeking research experience for profile enhancement may also apply.
    • Must have a minimum aggregate of 60% or a CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale at all levels.
    • Students from the following disciplines are encouraged to apply:
      • Engineering: Computer Science & Information Systems, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.

    Purpose

    The objective of this internship is to provide short-term exposure to selected candidates by assigning them to various divisions and units within NITI Aayog. The available domains/areas for internships are listed in Annexure ‘A’.

    Objectives of the Scheme

    The key objectives of the internship scheme are:

    • To allow young academic talent to work closely with NITI Aayog and contribute to its ongoing projects.
    • To give interns an opportunity to understand government functioning and developmental policy issues.
    • To help interns contribute to policy formulation by generating inputs such as empirical analysis, briefing reports, and policy papers.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Students from any recognized university or institution in India or abroad can apply if they meet the following conditions:

    a. Undergraduate Students:

    • Must have completed or appeared in the term-end exams of their second year (4th semester) of a bachelor’s degree.
    • Must have secured at least 85% or equivalent marks in their 12th class exams.

    b. Graduate Students:

    • Must have completed or appeared in the term-end exams of the first year (2nd semester) of their postgraduate program.
    • Research scholars and PhD candidates are also eligible.
    • Must have secured at least 70% or equivalent marks in their undergraduate degree.

    c. Recently Graduated Students:

    • Those who have completed their graduation/post-graduation and are awaiting admission for higher studies.
    • Must have secured at least 70% cumulative marks in all years/semesters up to the date of application.
    • The period between the declaration of the final exam results and the intended month of internship should not exceed six months.

    For example, if the result is declared in June, the student can apply for the internship starting no later than December.

    Application Process

    Instructions for Filling the Online Application Form

    • Personal Information: Enter your full name, father’s name, address, contact details, and date of birth.
    • Educational Qualifications: Provide details about your 12th class, undergraduate, and postgraduate studies.
    • Marks: Enter the cumulative or average percentage obtained till date.
    • Area of Interest: Choose only one domain from the available options.
    • Submission: Applications must be submitted online only between the 1st (00:00 hrs) and 10th (23:59 hrs) of each month.

    Note: No changes will be entertained after submission, and NITI Aayog is not responsible for technical issues preventing submission.

    Internship Duration

    • The internship period shall be at least 6 weeks but not exceeding 6 months.
    • Interns must complete the requisite period to receive a completion certificate.

    Experience Certificate

    • A certificate confirming successful completion will be issued by the Adviser of the concerned Subject Division.

    Logistics & Support

    • Interns must have their own laptops.
    • NITI Aayog will provide workspace, internet facility, and other necessities.

    Selection Procedure

    1. Application Review: The online applications will be reviewed by relevant Heads of Verticals/Units/Divisions.
    2. Selection Process: Each Head of Vertical/Division/Unit can select up to three interns at a time. More selections require CEO approval.
    3. Final Selection: Selected candidates will be required to submit original mark sheets and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their institution before joining.
    4. Publication of Selected Candidates: The list of selected interns will be published on the NITI Aayog website.

    Note: If the candidate fails to provide required documents, their selection will be canceled.

    Attendance Requirements

    • Interns must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance.
    • Daily “In” and “Out” logs are required.
    • If attendance falls below 75%, no extension will be given, and no certificate will be issued.
