    If you’re a tech-savvy student passionate about AI, Data Science, or Computer Engineering, the DRDO Young Scientist Lab – Artificial Intelligence (DYSL-AI) is offering a prestigious 6-month paid internship opportunity. Hosted in Bengaluru, this program provides exposure to cutting-edge research in artificial intelligence aligned with national defense priorities.


    Overview of the Internship

    • Organization: DRDO Young Scientist Lab – Artificial Intelligence (DYSL-AI)
    • Duration: 6 months
    • Location: Dr. Raja Ramanna Complex, Raj Bhavan Circle, High Grounds, Bengaluru – 560001
    • Stipend: ₹5,000/month (total ₹30,000 in 2 installments)
    • Mode of Work: Offline (at lab location)
    • Total Positions Available: 5 (may vary as per lab requirements)

    Objective of the Internship

    DYSL-AI aims to foster innovation and scientific discovery in AI to support national defense forces and advance India’s position in intelligent systems research. This internship allows students to work on real-time projects of national significance under expert mentorship.


    Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

    To be eligible for the DRDO internship, the candidate must:

    • Be currently pursuing any of the following:
      • B.E./B.Tech. (Final Year)
      • M.Sc./M.Tech. (Ongoing)
    • Have a minimum First Division (above 60%) in all previous semesters.
    • Be enrolled in one of the following disciplines:
      • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
      • Machine Learning (ML)
      • Data Science
      • Computer Science & Engineering (or equivalent field)

    Internship Benefits

    • Monthly Stipend: ₹5,000 (fixed)
    • Total Stipend: ₹30,000 (paid in two equal installments)
      • ₹15,000 after 3 months
      • ₹15,000 after successful completion of 6 months
    • Work on cutting-edge AI research
    • Direct mentorship from DRDO scientists
    • Certificate of completion

    Note: Accommodation, food, transportation, and other personal expenses are not covered.

    • Do not sign the application form.
    • Fill in all personal, academic, and internship-related details.

    Step 3: Name Your File

    Step 4: Attach Required Documents

    Attach scanned copies (where applicable) of the following:

    • 10th Marksheet
    • Latest Semester Marksheet
    • Character Certificate
    • Letter of Recommendation (LOR from Head of Department)
    • Updated Resume (CV)
    • College ID Card
    • Aadhar Card

    Selection Process

    • Mode of Selection: Interview-based
    • Only shortlisted candidates will receive interview invites via email.
    • Shortlisting is based on academic performance, relevance to the domain, and completeness of application.

    Important Guidelines & Terms

    1. No automatic job offer: Internship does not guarantee employment at DRDO.
    2. Confidentiality required: Interns must follow DRDO’s data and information security protocols. Disclosure of sensitive information may lead to legal consequences under the Official Secrets Act.
    3. Attendance & Leave:
      • Regular attendance is mandatory.
      • Only sick leave with a valid medical prescription is allowed.
      • National holidays are observed as per the lab schedule.
    4. Lab Access: Interns will only access non-classified areas and information.
    5. Property Care: Interns must handle lab equipment responsibly. Any damage must be compensated.
    6. Publication Prohibition: Interns must not publish or share internship-related information in any form without permission.
    7. Extension Clause: Internship period may be extended up to a maximum of 6 months upon request, but no additional stipend is granted beyond 6 months.
